1999 Ford Contour camshaft

1999 Ford Contour 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 99 ford contour I am trying to take the head off. It has dohc , how do you take out the cam that is to the front of the vehicle? I have everything tore down but it looks like there is some kind sensor preventing the cam from comming out.

Its sounds like you are talking about the chain tesioner which must be removed to release the chain.
