1999 Ford Contour Blower will only run on high

Air Conditioning problem
1999 Ford Contour 6 cyl Automatic 50000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My A/C and heat work fine but the fan will only work on high. Any setting in between off and high does nothing. Is this something I could correct myself. I am a senior citizen, widow on a VERY limited budget.

Get the blower motor resistor checked out, this is the one that controls the speed of the blower motor-
