I recently purchased a 1999 Ford Contour. When I go out to start it up in the morning it Idles rough then shuts off. Also when I am driving and giving it gas it runs great; but as soon as I stop at a red light and I am not accelerating it shuts off. It starts right back up immediately after shutting off but it tries to do it again unless I am pressing on the gas. When I bought the car it was running great but it has only been a week and suddenly I am having problems. Any idea of what this could be?

Check idle air control valve
also check for vacuum leaks
intake manifold and gasket is very common for a vacuum leaks
smoke test should reveal the leak area
