1998 Ford Contour Speedometer and Odometer ceased to operat

Speedometer suddenly stopped operating on my 1998 Contour SVT. I suspect that the Vss or an electrical Connection to it is at fault. Where are the VSS and it's connectors located?

VSS is on the lower rear of the transaxle..
