I am trying to locate thee trany filter on my car.
My car lost power an wants to go into gear but isnt going into gear. I talked to a place an they told me to drop the trany pan an check for shaveings an there is none, so I am attempting to try to replace the filters an see if thats the problem... I took apart the pan an the front but I see no place for the odd shapped filter!! So where would the filter be at???

The CD4E transaxle in the Contour has no service procedure for the transaxle pan and filter removal. The filter is located in the center of the transaxle and can only be removed at transaxle disassembly. the pan should only be removed for repair or adjustment of the transaxle is necessary..
