How do you remove the Headlight Assembly on a 1997 Ford Contour.
I need to replace the entire Lamp Assembly and not only the bulbs.
No the boat is not for sale. Thanks anyhow. [img:5d575ca2b5]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/581064_imagesCARZGLT4_1.jpg[/img:5d575ca2b5]

lol, that info should be in your owners manual. If you don't have an owners manual, I can tell you where to look at one online. www.fordparts.com when the site comes up, put your mouse arrow on the PRO link, click on technical resources, then click owners guide in the left column. If you had rather, I will find the info and post, here.

Nice looking boat. lol

On a 97 Contour there are three clips at the back of the lamp assembly which need to be removed. Each clip attaches the lamp to the front clip assembly. Look on the passenger side first where the bulbs go in. You will easily see one of the clips attached to a black ball with a screw going through it. That is one of three adjusters on either side. This is not a difficult job but it does take time and patience. Remove both side lamps by unscrewing the bolt that holds them. The bolt is located at the top of the side lamp inside, underneath the hood. It is a torque head. The battery will also need to be removed.
