1997 Ford Contour Engine runs good, will not idle unless ga

Engine starts and runs like a champ. Let off the gas pedal though and it passes right thru the idle speed and stall out. Must hold gas pedal down abit to keep engine running. R & R the Throttle Position Sensor, problem still exists. Check engine light on. Any thoughts? Car was free, and is an "airport" car, so no desire to spend lots of money on it.

You need to have the computer scanned for code/s to find out what's causing the problem-Go to Autozone they'll do it for free
