1996 Ford Contour Resetting the Computer

Good Afternoon,

I recently brought my Bronco in for service and they had to reset the computer. My inspection is due today and as of today the computer won't reset.
My mechanic is having a hard time with this, I was wondering if you had any advice.

take the rejection sticker
and drive it for a week or so
until system ready



Take it for a long drive start cold engine allow to warm
then drive it do a stop and go
and drive on the free way too
80 to 100 mile then return for inspection
do not shut the truck off
