What to check next

Diagnostic guidance. Suggested checks and possible repairs are separate from the owner's reported results.

Have the vehicle's protected power feeds, grounds and fuel-control circuit tested against the correct wiring diagram. Do not leave the pump on a bypass power supply.

Discussion summary

turns over but wont start 87 ford bronco 2 2.9

A 1987 Bronco II 2.9 would crank but not start after the battery was connected incorrectly. Replacing a fuel relay did not restore starting; the pump operated when supplied directly.

Reported outcome: No successful repair was reported.

Direct pump operation does not verify normal control or fuel pressure. The suggested relay location and main-fuse fault were not confirmed for this vehicle.
