my '79 Bronco with a newly rebuilt 351m, makes a very deep and noticeable gurgling sound when I shut the engine off. I've never heard this sound before, and can't pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. Any thoughts or advice?

Was the A/C running when you turned it off?
The refrigerant will continue to boil off in the evaporator until pressures in the system equalize, which can be heard in the engine compartment and inside the car. If the sound dies off after 30 seconds, and this is the sound you are hearing, then that is normal.

Try again to locate source of the noise and get back to the forum.
