Bob and Ken,

I just recently moved to Colorado from Texas. I purchased my father in law's Ford Bronco 1996 XL knowing that Colorado snows quite a bit. I know there are several ways to pop in and out of 4x4 depending on the type of vehicle. I do not have a owners manual for the Bronco and I am needing this information before I burn something up and have to pay money out of pocket. Thanks for your help.

(father in law never drove the vehcile, it was part of his fleet from work)

Well you want to start off by looking either on the right side of the dash, there should be two buttons, one says 4x4 high and 4x4 low, in neutral push the 4x4 high and you should hear a clicking sound and the light should blink. Otherwise you have a gear shifter on the floor that shows 4x4 high low and neutral. But you should have the buttons. After that depending what kind of hubs it has, stock is an auto-lock hub that you don't have to worry about anything but they like to not work some times, or you have manual hubs that you have to turn to lock or unlock. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
