Can the EGR bypass tube be taken off and can the pollution items be taken off? If so how do I bypass this and the engine run good. I have rebuilt the engine and I took all the pollution items off the engine, the engine will crank up and runs great going down the road but the engine does not idle well and the when you put in the truck in gear it shuts off. Also the smell is very strong.

You can remove the EGR valve and template it-might also want to clean out the idle air control valve and also the PCV valve
