1995 Ford Bronco high idle at startup

Engine Performance problem
1995 Ford Bronco V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 185.32 miles

when starting engine , it will idle up to 2000 rpm with the engine light coming on itermittently, it takes more than the normal time to idle down and does not do this all the time & will not respond to pedal kickdown...temperature change has not made a differance here in north texas.

Pull the code/s from the computer -clean out the idle air control valve could be stuck in the extended position.
