1995 Ford Bronco fuel pump noise/performance

I'm seriously considering buying a 95 Bronco,5.8 liter with 180000 miles.My question is;Should the fuel pump run constantly?{It does}And,shoud I be able to hear it?{I can.}The present owner says the pump has recently been replaced.Thanks so much.You guys are great!

Hi:
The fuel pump can be heard but shouldn't be too loud. As far as running all of the time, it should shut down when pressure is reached. Does the pump run all of the time w/out the engine running?
