My four wheel drive will not kick in. why? its a push button with automatic locking hubs... help..........

When you push the button does the light come on and you hear a clicking sound?
If it does then it is probably engaging but the auto hubs like they always do, have gone to hell. Replace them with manual lock hubs, it's a little more work to get them locked but it's worth it.
