I have a 1995 Ford Bronco and I just replaced the hubs from automatic to manual locking hubs. When I first start driving down the road, there is a loud grinding, clicking noise coming from the driver side front tire. This only happens when I'm going straight. It gets very loud as I'm slowing down. Can you help?

If you did the conversion yourself, you shouldn't have any problem troubleshooting this. Does the noise appear with brake on or off? Can you jack the front end up and replicate the noise by spinning the hub by hand? Something rotated by the hub is contacting a static part of this area of the vehicle. If memory serves me right, doesn't this vehicle have ABS? If so, it has an exciter ring on the inside of the knuckle--these are easy to damage. This type of diagnostic requires a good light source and a slow and careful observation. Look for metal or other fresh fragments as well as tell-tale scrape marks. If you find nothing, you may have to disassemble the work you've done and carefully retrace all steps and condition of components. Good luck.
