I recently purchased a 1994 ford bronco with a 5.0 liter as a project vehicle. This vehicle had an engine fire (propane) melting much of the immeriate wiring surrounding the distributor area. I have since replaced the ditributor, coil, starter relay. The motor now turns over and has spark. Next was no fuel pressure. When you turned on the key you could hear the fuel pump but no fuel pressure at the feul rail. I poured 3 gals. Of fuel into the tank, turned the key and the pump ran for a few seconds, a pump bogging sound was heard and the pump quit. I checked for line blockages and installed a new pump. There is no power going to the pigtail at the pump. I checked the 20 amp fuse, ok. I checked / replaced the fuel relay and still no power to the fuel line at the pump. I went upstream and there is no power on the grn/yellow wire leading to the inertia valve. I then wiring under the fuel relay, when I ground the light blue wire I have power at the grn/ yellow wire at the inertia valve.
So is my problem a result of poor grounding from the PCM and if so where is the PCM ground?
I ran an engine scan test, here are the results:
118
122
327
553
552
565
559
542 - Fuel pump circuit open connection, Electronic Control assemblyto motor ground
Help!
thanks,
