My bronco ran fine until my little brother used it and ran it out of gas. Since then it will start but wants to die. If you get it to stay cranked when you put it in gear it will die. Runs really bad now. Before he ran it out of gas it would start and idle strong and ran really great. What could be the problem?

Running a vehicle out of gas is a very good way to ruin a fuel pump or suck up impuritys and plug the fillter pump and the inline filter.
Check the fuel filter and change/adjust as needed.

Check for fuel pressure at the rail and compare it with specs, when cranking it also.
