after letting my bronco sit for 15 minutes, when trying to start it, it just cranked and cranked but did not fire. I turned the key to activate fuel pump and then turned the key off and waited a few seconds before trying to start. When it finally fired, it ran rough then did not idle and it died. Later, I did the fuel pump thing and it started and as long as I gave it gas it did not die but continued to run rough. In nuetral it would have lots of power, but in drive it was dogging and died twice on the way home. When I went to relieve fuel pressure at the presta valve to replace my WAY overdue fuel filter there was no pressure. After researching a little on line I'm confused as to is it a fuel filter or fuel pressure regulater issue, or something else. I was just hoping by replacing fuel filter, I could get it to a shop across town in order for them to read the codes, (check engine light is on, now). BUT, now, I;m not sure the fuel filter is the program after all now. Any thing you could advise would be helpful. This is the first time I have used anything like this on line.

Hi:
If you hear the pump running and there is no pressure, replace the pump. If the pump runs, it produces full pressure.
