I have changed all the regulater tuneup things to do to it (cap rotor plugs wires fuel filter and air filter) this problem happened spontaniously one day driving home from work and i was going up a hill and total power lose and it wouldnt go up any hills. i did a tune up thinking that it was something like that up it wasnt. the truck idles great but once under a load it just wants to die and it like backfires out of the intake. im stumped and really dont want to put to much money into the old truck any ideas. oh and the gas isnt bad

Have you checked to make sure the catylatic converter isn't plugged? Also, have you checked fuel pump pressure and has the check engine light come on?
