1990 Ford Bronco starter motor isnt hitty flywheel correctl

I have changed the hydralic clutch and installed a different engine,the starter which is the same that was in the original isnt engageing the flywhell correctly and is grinding.

Sounds like the starter pinion drive is too far from the flywheel and needs shimming. Investigate the flywheel thru the inspection plate and verify if its the correct starter-
