I ran a obd1 scanner on my truck and came up with 51,56,22,53,54,35,67. I believe that it is the computer but if I were to get a computer out of a salvage yard does it have to match up completely and will I carry over problems from the salvage vehicles trouble codes?

Yes it has to be the same part number. As far as problems, if there are codes in it, it will shut them if the same item on your car is working properly.
