1990 Ford Bronco Gas Guage not working

I recently bought this truck after it had been sitting for 14 months. the Gas Guage doesnt read properly. at first it would woble around all over the place no matter how much fuel was in it. now it sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. any ideas?

Chances are the Rheostat is bad on the float. It is the resister that determins how much power is sent to the gauge. If the car sat, it may have corroded. There is a chance it will start working correctly or it may need replaced.
