1989 Ford Bronco V8 Automatic

i have an 89 full size bronco. when im driving the front sounds like its got a thudding/clunking. almost like a flat tire. people who have heard it have said few things. its the ujoint or the cvjoint. it only happens when im in motion. maily lower speeds. around 30 is when it the loudest. i dont know much about all this but dont want to have a mechanic take advantage of that. can someone help me learn? whats wrong with my beast> thanks

Does the sound change when you make turns? Are the tires in good condition? Also, it could be u-joints. Have you checked to see if there is any play in them?
