1988 Ford Bronco V8 Four Wheel Drive Manual

my 88 bronco froze up at a gas pump in minus 14 degree wheather. It has since been towed home and warmed up and it still wouldnt start. So I replaced the spark plugs, cap, rotor, and plug wires. I have also put two bottles of heat and ten gallons of fresh high octane gas. Still it wont start. If I step on the gas while starting I can get it to chug a little but fuel runs out the exhast

is the fuel pump gone bad or something else

Before replacing anything else you will have to check for spark on ALL cylinders, be sure to use a spark tester and make sure its grounded out to a good clean ground.

Observe the spark characteristics, should be bright and blue and well defined, sharp looking like lightning. Should also be rhythmatic not firing like a machine gun.

Next step would be to check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail wiht a fuel pressure check guage.

Is it a EFI model? The 88's some were carbed but most were EFI.

Yes it is an efi model and I have got it to run but I can only get it to run with the crash fuel shut off switch disconnected. How could this be that switch should cut all power to the to both fuel pumps. I ran it this way for one hour and it still didnt stall out, like the book said it would.

And it used a hole lot of gas in that one hour
