1985 Ford Bronco alternator

just purchased vehicle and noticed a wire that is coming off the terminal STA on alternator was fried. can you tell me were the wire is supposed to be routed to?

If its a white and black wire it goes to the voltage regulator S terminal

That is the stator goes to ampmeter if there is one or voltage regulator
