1997 Ford Aspire 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

Lived in Colorado 5000 feet up, no moister.
Moved to Salem Oregon, very moist, and its about 500 feet up.
When I drive on the highway about 55,,I noticed at some certain places I loose power,,and its always at these place? the car slows to about 35mph, even if I have the padel to the floor,, have to switch gears to a lower, about 3rd gear..
I noticed on my trip to oregon at certain places it does that..I dont think its my transaxel,, had that replace less than a year ago?

Is the transmission slipping? Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked to make sure the catalytic converter isn't plugged?
