1996 Ford Aspire squeeling noise when starting

Hi, most everytime I start the car it squeels pretty loud and then sounds like a screech (scrape maybe) wondering what is causing this. I usually start with car in gear with foot on clutch and emergency break on. Thank you

Check the alt belt to make sure it is tight and in good condition. Let me know what you find.

Joe, turns out mechanic told me it was the water pump going.

It was most likely getting coolant on the belt causing the noise. I'm glad you found the problem. Let us know if you have questions in the future.
