When accelerating my car sputters. I did a tuneup on it about 9 mo's ago and it had been working great. Just in the last few weeks I had been very low on gas for awhile. I replaced the fuel filter, thinking this was it. At first it seemed to improve and only at higher speeds (interstate speeds) did it still sputter when accelerating. But each day it seems to get a little worse and now it happens even when accelerating from a stop. I am losing power and I can smell a fuel smell (I believe its coming from the vents on the dash but not sure).
Can someone help?

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked to make sure there are no fuel leaks under the hood?

Let me know. Also, make sure the catalytic converter isn't plugging.
