2000 Ford Aerostar ENgine Code

2000 FORD AEROSTAR

The check engine light came on. When the code was read it say Bank 1 and 2 are too lean. What could cause this?

I suspect you have a PO171 and PO174. There is a technical service bulliten on this issue. the codes are caused by a vacuum leak internally. The bullitin calls for replacement of the upper and lower intake gaskets, thefuel pressure regulator hose, and possibly the front valve cover.
