1998 Ford Aerostar trouble codes

vehicle has lost power,seems to have 1 or 2 dead cylinders. there is no water in oil,spark plugs looked somewhat dirty. i cleaned gapped and reinstalled them and it still misses. im thinking fuel injector .the trouble codes are p1537 p1538 p0171,too lean bank 1

Hi:

Code P1537 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open

Code P1538 - Runner control stick


Code P0171 - System too lean bank 1

The runner control can cause the lean situation. The part is a big job to replace, but I have an idea. It is probly just the clip that conects to the actuater bar. Remove the Intake plentum first just to see. It's just a little clip no bigger than an eraser on a pencile. Anyway, it's not a real hard job, just time consuming. If you can use a torque wrench. It will take about 4 hours to complete.
