1997 Ford Aerostar speedometer trans. connection?

Transmission problem
1997 Ford Aerostar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Some mornings the speedometer "wags" and the trans. will not shift. Otherwise trans. shifts just fine. What is needed to fix?

most likely its the vehicle speed sensor that is mounted on the transmission.
