I took out my dads transmission and replaced the front transmission seal and put it back in. I filled it with trans fluid and started it up and run the gears thru low, second and drive and overdrive. I then put it back in park and than back in drive to move forward and I got nothing in all the gears. I also check the dip stick and it was showing past full which I know it shouldnt be so I look underneath to see that I hooked up the linkage right. It has to linkages close together. I had my dad move the gear shift and only one in moving and the second one is just staying there could that be my problem. Thanks

Only one should move. I believe the other you see is the kick down linkage. Are you sure the linkage is putting the shifter in the correct position?
