1994 Ford Aerostar shifting problem

I own a 1994 ford aerostar. It will not shift into park I need to start in neutral. When I stop and shift the lever into park it will only reach reverse. Is this a neutral safety switch problem?

It is most likely you linkage cable is just out of adjustment have sumone check the adjustment on the transmission and if still dosent work check the cable on the shifter end too
