1994 Ford Aerostar Front Seal?

Transmission problem
1994 Ford Aerostar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150k miles

Went up a hill, started smoking, a few miles later transmission started slipping. Bought transmission fluid, as soon as put in staated pouring out from transmission(front). Could this be a worn or blown front seal? Had a friend come and get me with trailer, put in 3 quarts of tranny fluid to drive onto trailer.

Sounds like it, but you need to at least remove the coverplate and see where the fluid is leaking from.
