How to replace power steerring pump

Replacing the pump is somewhat involved. I will give you a general overview of the steps.

First, disconnect the neg battery terminal, then vacuum the fluid from the pump. Next, remove the belt. After that, there will be 3 or 4 bolts holding the pump in position. They will need to be removed. Next, disconnect both the high and low pressure hoses attached to the pump assembly, and remove the pump. Reverse the order to replace.

Once the new pump is in, fill it with new fluid. Lift both front tires off the ground and safely support the van. Now, slowly turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and back to the right (DO NOT START ENGINE). Do this several times, check and refill fluid, and continue untill the pump stays full. Nwo lower the car, cap off the new pump, start it and check for leaks and make sure the pump stays full.
