For a few years my vans oil light came on every 1500-1700 miles and needed a half a quart of oil but now the oil light is on and it does not need any oil. We even gave it an oil change to see if that would end the problem but it didn't. Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how to repair it?

hello, try this first.disconnect the battery for ten minutes to reset the comp.then connect it and if it comes off the light i mean drive it like that and if it comes back on you should change the oil level sensor.might be bad.im not quite sure where its located but an auto parts store will tell u.also make sure u didnt over fill to much .good luck
