1993 Ford Aerostar Dome light poblems

When I shut the door the dome light stays on. I had the same problem with my 1996 Ford Ranger. Is there a sensor in the door that tells the light when to shut off?

A short to ground in the circuit before the door switch would complete the circuit ,making the lights stay on regardless of the switch position.
To narrow the problem down,as no fuse is blown,the short is on the ground side of one of the switches.
remove each switch at each door and(check) trace the ground wire for short.
