I have a '92 ford aerostar 3.0 with 161,000 miles. It will start but cuts off abruptly after running a few minutes. Have changed the fuel pump and filter, the coil, spark plugs, mass air flow sensor and tested the ignition control module. What could be causing it to cut off?

Hi stumpedinalabama,

When engine cut off, was it easy to restart?
What is the idling rpm?
Did you clean the throttle body?
Checked/tested the TPS?

It didn't start back, it was flooded. Pulled the fuel relay sensor and it started for a while. The relay has been replaced but the fuel pump still runs constantly before cranking
don't know the RPMs but didn't sound hi or low
yes the throttle bottle has been cleaned
haven't checked the TPS

Hi stumpedinalabama,

I would check the fuel injectors if the engine can't restart due to flooding.

However if no spark was present and prolonged cranking was done, you have to check for the cause of no sparks. It would also cause flooding.
