2007 Ford 500 problem with Air Conditioning

Air Conditioning problem
2007 Ford 500 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my air only works when car is moving (or your revving the engine while stopped or idling) The dealership now says my air compressor is intermittently locking up, and i need a new one, problem is they say it is back ordered to November. They say there are 8000 people ahead of me who need this part??? This does not sound right, as other mechanics i have spoken to agree

Could be freezing up and blocking off the orifice tube, pressure switch, magnetic clutch and HVAC control module.
