Thanks for the thorough answer to my last post. Great. But something I forgot to put in also that may help me narrow the problem down more...I noticed the radiator hose was much hotter to the touch than the cap on the antifreeze reservoir. Does That give any indication where I should go to 1st of the many possibilities as to why heater is now not getting warm?

To answer your question; no, the temperature in the overflow reservoir is irrelevant. I suspect the issue you may be having with heater performance may be a plugged heater core. Here is a tutorial showing how to replace a heater core:
