I bought fog lights for the car and it already had wiring in the car, but I don't know how to turn them on or if the pre existing wiring even works. I want to know if the pre existing wiring will work, or if I should install the new wiring with a switch. I have heard that the lights can work if you turn the parking lights on, but I can't get them. What should I do? Thanks

Welcome to 2CarPros.

I need to know a few things.

First, are you installing original equipment fog lights?

Next, even though the wiring is there, did the vehicle come with fog lights and you are replacing them?

Now, if they are after market lights and the vehicle never came with fog lights, use the wiring provided with the new lights along with the switch they provided. If the vehicle never had them, the only thing that exists is the wiring going to nothing.

If you look at the three pics I attached, you will see the wiring required for an OEM install. Also, the switch will need replaced. The last two pictures includes the entire wiring schematic for the headlamps and fog lamps. I had to break it in two, but I did overlap it so you can follow it.

Let me know if this answers your question or if you have others.

Take care,
Joe
