Can someone tell me where I can I get a fuel gauge and float for the truck listed above, that doesn’t cost an arm, leg, and first born?

Thank you

Hi,

Chances are the prices are up at this time and because of the year, there are fewer of them.

Have you tried a salvage yard? Also, have you checked Rockauto.com? They are usually reasonable when it comes to price.

Let me know.

Hi,

Is this the part you are looking for, Toyota part number 8332039705? See pic 1.

I found a universal replacement from Dorman. Here is the link at Advance Auto Parts:

https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/dorman-help-universal-fuel-level-sending-unit-kit-55818/11245079-P?navigationPath=L1*14932%7CL2*14986%7CL3*15387

I typed in your year make and model and it came up. Pic 2 is a pic of it.

By the way, I see why you are looking for something a littler lower in price. Wow, the OEM part is crazy expensive.

Let me know if this helps.

Does the float have to be matched with the fuel gauge?

That is based on the design. In this case, the length of the float rod will determine how far a rheostat moves in the sensor. That will signal the gauge with a certain voltage to indicate a certain fuel level.

If possible, contact a parts store and see if they have one in stock. Then, go check it out to see what the directions indicate for calculating the gauge and float.

Let me know what you find.

Hi,

No problem whatsoever. I have never used one from that company, so I'm not sure what they recommend. However, there usually will be a preset location on the float rod where the float will mount for your vehicle.

If possible, let me know if you decided to try a universal float and how it turns out for you.

Take care,
