Hi, I was wondering why Ryan didn’t convert to a roller tappet in his 302 Windsor rebuild. I’m rebuilding a 68 302 and was wondering if a roller conversion would be recommended for mine. Thank you for your help and videos! Great content!

Hey Jongo,

Thanks so much for watching the series! We kept the engine flat tappet for simplicity, to keep the engine in line with how it was originally, and the camshaft we wanted was flat tappet. Not to mention it was a decent bit cheaper.

Nothing wrong with going roller but, it just was not the right fit for this project.

Thanks for using 2CarPros!

Best,
Ryan
