I was checking my flashers and hazards after installing a new ignition switch, keeping my original tumbler and key. It worked great.
I reached down to the blinker since I had the panel off and could feel the large yellow square original blinker working. I for some dumb reason I decided to pull it out while the lights were blinking to look at it. I put it back in and now my turn signal light do not flash and neither does my hazards. I cannot find a schematic that is correct for my vehicle. It appears it was a made in Canada for California since it has the emissions on it and wonder if that why this Haynes manual has barely any correct information on my van. The schematic even shows two wires for the electric cooling fan and yet my fan has four. I cannot find my correct fuse panel or relay diagram anywhere I have looked, down by my left knee. At any rate.
what has happened?

Start by checking fuse 7, a 20-amp.

The flasher is another good suspect because it has all kinds of electronic circuitry inside it. They shouldn't be unplugged or plugged in under load.

Forget Haynes and Chiltons manuals for anything electrical. Those books only cover things competent do-it-yourselfers can handle. Nothing is better than a paper copy of the manufacturer's manual.

You nailed it my friend! I went and purchased another unit. Disconnected the battery negative, installed the switch.
Hooked up the neg cable, started up,
Said a few Hail Marys, hit the hazards and walla, they work great.
Thank you so much for your advice.
2 Car pros. Com rocks.
Thank you again caradiodoc:-)
