My friend has the van listed above. A fire started in the engine compartment while it was sitting in the driveway. If it was electrical what would cause that?

Faulty wiring (power touching ground) is the main cause of an engine fire, if the engine was not running then gas should not be the cause of the fire. I would say a positive battery cable, or a shorted alternator can cause it. Can you see where the fire originated from? Please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
