Both key fobs are not communicating with the car

The car does not get used very often sometimes it has a flat battery. I have two key fobs which have stopped communicating with the car other than flat battery's in the fob what other problem could this be?

When the cars battery goes low it can "forget" the information for various items. Especially the security system as it thinks the bad battery means someone is trying to steal the car. Likely you just need to have the fobs programmed back into the system. Then, as you do not use the car very often you may want to get a small battery maintainer or a small smart charger and leave that on it to keep the battery charged. This is more important as every time a battery gets low it decreases its life dramatically. It can also cause other issues and if you are in an area where it gets below freezing a low/discharged battery can freeze and cause more damage.
