2001 Other Fiat Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

After driving from Glasgow to inverness at the weekend there was what looked like long strands of hair maybe synthetic?? hanging from my exhaust. when pulled the length was extremley long. I dont believe i hit anything during my trip and wondered if something could have crawled up my exhaust??

sounds like possible packing used in mufflers, usually fiberglass that is finally no more good and is burning out.
