I own a 1988 FIAT Ducato with 2.5 L Turbo Diesel engine type Sofim 8144.21. I converted it with SmartVeg to run on vegetable oil. However, as a result the timing belt has broken once, and after rebuilding the engine the timing of the Diesel pump slipped twice out of timing. I already heard that this particular engine type has "no good history", but I do want to hear your opinion/ advice on what I can do to rescue the situation. Regards, reinhard@poczta.onet.pl

you need to make sure the timing belt is fitted correctly and adjusted correctly and the timing will not slip !!
