1988 Fiat Ducato heating problems

having just fitted a new thermostat in my fiat ducato/i have still got a problem as when my van is on tick over the cooolent start to bubble and spit out of the header tank could any 1 help me on this please. fatgaz

Has engine ran long enough to reach operating temp? if not let it run to expel air also was thermo spring placed towards engine?
